The Sarah Ebanks Session

A wonderful session with one of the most fun and most professional person i worked with.

She initially contacted me via Facebook, and there was just a difficulty in matching our schedules. We finally made it, and oh what fun it was.

we initially talked about the concepts of the shoot, and agreed on time and location.

On the day, we met up, she was just her gorgeous and upbeat self. Armed with enthusiasm and all of the clothes needed for the shoot, we had hair and make up, and went shooting.

everyday scenes

the camera is a beautiful tool.

it captures scenes that take our attention at a moment in time. we may forget the scenes after a time, but on a night when we're clearing out emails and organising files, we see the pictures again, and it takes us back to the time.

no matter how mundane.

no matter how passing, you remember what you saw, and how you felt.

some pictures i took early this year, in various locations.

this was in Rochester Row...
a sunday afternoon, just looking at the peaceful of out-of-office hours serenity of the street. such contrast to the usual hub that happens during the midweek. when a normally busy street suddenly becomes quiet to you, you are taken aback, and you look closer. thats what i did.

this was in an eco-cafe in one of the towns in Essex (Braintree).

the husband, always aware that i need to get my "photo-fix" for the week decided to take me out for a walking tour in one of the eco farms. i relented, because the opportunities to take photos were amazing in places like that. plus the lovely homebaked cakes and brewed coffee were too tempting to say No. this photo was of the power generator, a windmill that supplies the entire farm and the cafe. the contrast of the afternoon sun created a backlit shot opportunity for me.

chinatown, (shaftesbury) chinese new year 2010..
one of the best places to go to for photographing is chinatown. especially during the chinese new year, as chinatown doubles up with colour. the decors get more flambuoyant, and the place gets even noisier and smells like new year too. the sounds and the colours of chinese new year is too beautiful too miss, that all you could do was click that shutterbutton.

inside starbucks coffeeshop, earls court.

this was a very cold afternoon. The husband and i decided to get inside the shop just to get warm and drink coffee. the whole coffeeshop was quiet and just waited for time,it was as if, the coffee would thaw away the coldness outside. most of the customers looking out quietly to what was going on outside. it was a moment, where i thought time stood still for all of us in the shop. and i just had to click my camera.

i have gazillion and one photos of moments that i just felt 'something'. its not even an event i photographed, nor a party of someone i was asked to do.

its just one of those scenes that will pass us by but once captured, we bottle the moment and frame it in our minds.

its cliche, but when they say that a photograph is worth a thousand words, it will be even more, to the person who photographed it. not only can one expound on the photograph's technicality but also the meaning of the scene when it was taken.

just my two cents.

Anya pictorial

Babies are beautiful, and i love them.

Kissing them, tickling them, making them laugh and just adore hearing their giggles, always a delight.

Here's one who just won my heart recently..

she's adorable..

i know most photos she was crying but bless her, we had to wake her up at half 6 at night (who wouldn't cry their eyes out?), just so we could take her photos.

natasha shoot

recently, i had a photoshoot with my friend Natasha.

it was beautiful and sunny the entire week, but when friday (the day of the photoshoot) came, the skies turned on us. it was overcast, drizzly and suddenly there was a chilly dampness in the air.

these photos are meant to be for natasha's collection, as she is fascinated by photography herself (she has a collection of professionally done photos from her holidays, most recently in the Dominican republic) and her handsome beau is interested in having photos of her.

lucky boyfriend.

lucky me, as i get to take photos of a beautiful woman.

and guess what, the next few weeks, we might have a photoshoot again for a budoir session and some high glam shoots for her collection.

and who am i to say "no"...

enjoy some pics we did on the day...

these photos would'nt be possible without the help of my very own creative sidekick, my sister Ana, who is quite a talented photographer herself, and a make up artist in her own right (she did the make up for the glam shoot, while i did the one for the spring/nature theme) =)

thank you Ana.. (aren't sisters a delight especially if they share the same passion as you?)
